Walk with intention.
Wake up and get to it.
Most people will read this and ask what do I need get to. lol
Well, that is a big problem. I don't know that answer specifically, but you do.
That "it" are your goals, your to do list, your definite aim in life. What is that?
Become top seller in your industry? Climb the corporate ladder? Improve your craft? Become a better parent? A better writer? You tell me.
Below you will find some quick tips to be more intentional with life in general.
1. Know what you are working towards. How can you be intentional without a plan. How can you build without having tools or a blueprint?
2. Know why you are working towards. Why is this house important, is it for you or for someone else? Is this your dream house? Why are you building it?
3. Do more than anybody in your workplace or classroom. Be the first one in and last one to leave. Study your market place. Spend at least one hour learning a new subject. Become specialized. Be an expert in your field. Do the tasks people aren't willing to do. Work overtime. Take more risks. The key to mastery is repetition. Get those reps in. You'll need the strength later.
4. Do more than anybody in your industry. Who's at the top of your company? Who's at the top of your industry? Learn from them. Success leaves clues. Gather the clues and start working double time. If they are in front of clients or consumers 3x a week. You need to figure out a way to do 6x's a week. If you are working when they are up and when they are sleep, you'll be in the lead in no time. If your goal is not to be the best that's fine. Understand that you can always continuously grow in whatever your aim is. Best parents, develop the best kids. Best employees, are the most productive. Best managers, develop the best talent. Best businesses, impact the. most communities. Everything can be measured. Be the best. At least try to be. Remember progression is happiness.
5. Teach what you know. The more you teach the more you will continue to learn, the more you will continue to expand in your field. It's been said the best teachers are the best learners just because of the preparation they have to endure in giving out lessons. People have different learning curves. Knowing how to impact others with stories and/or lessons is a great way to start mentoring and leading your classroom or workplace. Be the go to guy in your field. If people are not coming to you for advice they don't see you as an expert. When people in the same profession start reaching out to you for knowledge and insights then you know you are on the right track.
In summary, be mindful, be intentional, be aware. Notice your thoughts, your words and actions. How are they are impacting your world? Are people happy that you are around? Do you have a good reputation? Serve. Impact. Influence. But it has to be intentional. Greatness rarely happens by mistake. Do it on purpose. The person on top of the mountain didn't fall there. #wiseUP
