TIPS FOR GOING INDEPENDENT!

Tips for going independent?

Me: If I could start back over in 2014?

1. Financial Advisor, CPA.
Have a budget for the bad days, let that be your monthly budget. Everything else is a plus. If anything use that money to make more money. Just make sure you keep your money separated. Pay yourself. Business account vs Personal account.

2. Invest in something to where money can grow while you hustle. There’s no 401k for hustlers. Don’t touch it til your 50+.

3. Save a lil bit a day to build your own.

4. Reverse engineer to where you want to go. What do you need to do to get where you’re trying to go? Do something every day to move the needle a lil closer.

5. affiliate and collaborate. It’s hard alone. Find like-minded individual to where you both can funnel clients to where it’s mutual gain. Always look for win/wins. Ex) Chiropractors, physical therapists, CEOs (wellness programs).

6. Never get desperate. That’s how people lose making emotional decisions for the business. Always lean on logic. All opportunities aren’t for you. Learn to say no. A lot. Look for the red flags.

7. Find a mentor or peer that is doing what you’re doing. Set a time weekly, monthly or quarterly to check on goals and ideas. Everybody needs accountability. Everybody needs to vent. Everybody needs a body. Find a mentee to keep you grounded. Somethings we forget and teaching is the easiest way to keep learning.

8. Don’t compare your success to others. We all are on different pages. But use them as benchmarks. Look for the possibilities to keep your fire burning on the bigger picture. Frustration leads to procrastination that leads to a office job. Stay focused.

9. You’re a walking billboard. Build your body. Build your online presence. Build your clients. They are a reflection of you. Word of mouth will never go out of style. But if they can’t google you’ll get lost in the market.

10. Document everything. From blogging. Vlogging. Tell your story. What’s one word that reflects your why? Let everything you say and do, connect back to that one word. People love to help, people love to connect. That’s why reality tv is so popular. Let the world know your story. But make sure it’s a story. Refer back to your one word. What’s the theme? What’s the point? They can’t help you or support you if they don’t know you. Refer back to point #9. DONT BE HUMAN SPAM.

Wish I had me back then. Sigh.
